It's 10 times hotter here.

The first thing that shook me up from an eye-shutter on the plane from Tokyo was the announcement that Singapore is 30 Degree Celsius. That's about 10 times the temperature in Tokyo. The weather in Japan is really so chilly, and so unlike the way my uncle pronounced it, chilli. Talking about mispronunciation, my uncle has to be the forefounder. Throughout the trip, I was sometimes confused about the places we were supposed to go. For instance, he said we were to transit at krome when he actually meant kurume. And he kept mentioning that he liked the Onsan which could easily be mistaken as a person's name as Japaneses address their names ending with 'san'. What he intended was he liked the Onsen, the Japanese bath.
Most amusing was he told his Japanese friends that he is impressed with the way the Japanese girls bow. A very respectful comment to his friends but the problem is that his 'bow' sounded like 'bounce'. Fortunately, his friends didn't seem to catch the extra 'ce' sound but we, as listeners just couldn't stop giggling.
However, because we had spent about 2 weeks together, I suppose due to the influence, my pronunciation is not as accurate as before. It's time to speak proper English now. Seriesly (seriously).
