Mistaken again..

Maybe it is due to my rather dark feautures or complexion, people sometimes mistake me for a Malay. Some of them simply say that I look like one while other comments turn out pretty interesting. Hence, I decided to share these top 3 most intriguing instances:

1) 2 Chinese girls approached me at work and they looked at me uncertainly. When I urged them forward, they confessed that they thought I was a Malay and didn't know what to say to me. Later on the same day itself, a Malay man came to me with some queries and he thanked me saying the Chinese words "xie xie".

2) A Chinese auntie who knows little English came over to the counter I am working at and started to speak to me in Malay. I was flabbergasted and I motioned her to the correct counter. Afterwards, I went to ask the half Malay staff at the assigned counter and the exact auntie told him in Hokien that I didn't understand her.

3)And just today at lunch I went to order my food and the Malay server actually asked me why am I not fasting.
